See you on the courts: PALMES.

See you on the courts: PALMES.

We could already read in Vogue in May 1923 how the outfits worn on the tennis court were not so different from those worn off it.

That is, we are talking about more than a century ago, and yet the philosophy that such a beloved sport was dictating was already well imprinted. The contaminations between fashion and tennis and vice versa are many and all a source of inspiration.

Those who know us know very well that we can't stand still, when it comes to fashion, research and making our friends who pass by the shop happy.

We ventured to discover a brand that we do not define as cool, because it would be too limited. We simply tell you the name: PALMES

Palmes is a brand that is very much inspired by tennis culture, they want to bring a progressive ethic to the sport and the surrounding culture. The founder (a title we don't like) or rather the creator is Nikolaj Hansson, who recently also became creative director of Diadora Legacy

The Copenhagen-based designer developed the Palmes world during the lockdown, giving vent to his creativity. In this brand we see how clothes can tell stories, experiences, ways of life.

Palmes and his people communicate feelings through their products. Every time you buy something you have to feel an emotion. Good storytelling and great quality in style and production do the rest.

But let's get back to the tennis-fashion combination. The first to play the balance between sport and couture was, at the dawn of the 1920s, the French couturier Jean Patou. It was he who created the look of an icon of taste of the time, the tennis champion Suzanne Lenglen, defined by Gianni Clerici: «More admired than Duse, more desired than Josephine Baker, more elegant than Anna Pavlova».

It was 1919 when at Wimbledon, in addition to obtaining the first of her legendary victories, thanks to a touch of lipstick, a knitted vest and a short pleated skirt, Suzanne introduced the tennis look into millions of wardrobes. "My models", Patou himself confided shortly after, "are designed for sports activity". Sport had by then entered fashion with a bang, so much so that when Elsa Schiaparelli made her debut as a designer in 1927, she named her Parisian boutique Pour le sport.

Today, with the growing aspiration for comfort and the incessant search for cutting-edge materials, the boundaries between the two worlds are no longer existent. And this is where Palmes comes into play, reinterpreting many clothes not only from a sporty but also an everyday perspective.

Always remembering that sport is not just a pastime. It is also an activity that can be good for our physical and mental health. It is a feeling that we carry with us in different phases of life and that helps us grow and evolve as individuals. For this reason, it deserves to be treated with authenticity and respect.

We can't wait to propose, present and wear the pieces of this fantastic brand.

We will of course let you know.
