It sells exclusively online, but organizes temporary stores like the one in Milan during Fashion Week. Alohas wants to change the way the public "consumes" fashion.
But let's take a step back, we met Alohas last summer thanks to our friend Valeria who, knowing us, made us curious.
Very often we tend to think that two concepts such as quality production and ethical and sustainable production follow parallel lines that will never meet. In reality, it does not have to be this way. And Alohas proves it.
Alohas sells exclusively online through its e-commerce, but on the occasion of some special events it sets up temporary stores in prestigious locations, such as Paris. We wanted, and we have become, bearers of this brand in Brescia and its province. And as proof that it is a brand that cares about sustainability, know that Alohas has been recognized among the 7 “best sustainable shoe brands” of 2023.
Alohas was founded in Hawaii in 2015, but is based in Barcelona where the brand’s sustainable production starts. An on-demand production to change the way people consume fashion practically all over the world as the brand has expanded over the years with a presence almost all over the globe. Alohas designs are ethically sourced and produced locally in the coastal regions of Alicante, Spain. In addition to its own product line, Alohas also serves as a marketplace for other on-demand brands, such as Svegan.
Think about how many times you’ve found bargain deals on products from previous seasons. That’s because they’ve actually been produced more than the market actually wants. Alohas has decided to flip the approach: it only produces products that are actually ordered, and to encourage conscious consumption, the brand offers a 30% discount on new collections for the first two weeks after launch. This gives it around 14 days to accurately gauge demand levels for each item. Once that period has passed, production is started and the discount is reduced to 15% or on pre-orders, which take around six weeks to complete. Eventually, the products are offered at full price and ready to ship.
As you can see, this allows Alohas to address the problems of overproduction and waste typical of the fashion industry. Producing items only when they are actually ordered means that there is no more excess inventory that goes to waste and overproduction is effectively eliminated. In addition to reducing waste, the on-demand model also allows Alohas to better respond to customer demand and quickly adjust production levels.
Strongly Spanish from the start, our ideas are designed in Barcelona and meticulously crafted by our local artisans. Each design is inspired by timeless trends that will last a lifetime, as well as being a testament to our commitment to style and innovation, while maintaining a cutting-edge spirit.
We are ready to get into the Alohas mood.
