How to choose and wear beanies.

How to choose and wear beanies.

Beanies are hats that go with everything in 2024. For many, they represent freedom, while for others, they remain a little confused.

Few accessories are as functional from a fashion standpoint as beanies. Unlike bag charms, bracelets, and other accessories chosen purely for style, beanies serve first and foremost to keep the wearer warm. So, now that winter is coming, these hats are very useful.

Beanies have a history that is not limited to those in certain parts of London with a passion for free radio. In fact, they originated in the 12th century, when street vendors wore them to protect themselves from the cold. Since then, beanies have become a must-have for pretty much anyone who has to be exposed to the elements. They are popular with pop stars like Justin Bieber and actors like Keanu Reeves, but they look good on pretty much anyone.

To be honest, beanies are coordinated first and foremost with men's outerwear, from office jackets to very comfortable coats or down jackets. That said, these hats have also evolved, well beyond their original function as anti-cold hats. Now, in fact, they are worn first and foremost as a fashion statement and represent a sort of style declaration. They are absolutely versatile and perfect to pair with knitwear or perhaps heavier clothes, to give yourself a casual look after finishing work.

Far be it from us to advise our friends on how to dress, we feel it is appropriate to point out that it is better to put a beanie on your head. I would say that wearing it without covering your ears at least a little, especially if they are large, is a bit excessive, also because beanies are primarily used to protect them from the cold, at least in my opinion. And then I think it's wrong to wear a beanie just to appear taller. You have to find the right size for yourself: not too big and not too small, otherwise the beanie is wasted. If you choose a beanie that is too small, it is clear that you are showing off. If such a hat is too large, it will resemble a Victorian skullcap.

When choosing the right hat, several aspects must be considered, starting from the materials used. If you prefer a more traditional look and comfort, cashmere is definitely the choice.

These are not just items of clothing to be worn at high altitudes. In fact, as happens in the vast majority of cases, the beanie has become a must-have for many different styles. Just to give a few examples, hippies wore them in the 60s to symbolize their belonging to an alternative style. Anyone who goes to a place where skateboard enthusiasts gather will see the same passion for the beanies they wear.

Natural materials are certainly the favorites among those who decide to buy a beanie: those in cashmere or wool-cashmere blend are the most popular among our customers worldwide. For cashmere alone, online searches before purchasing our products in that material have increased by 106% over the last 3 months.

The so-called fisherman's beanie is also very popular, functional and at the same time fashionable. It is certainly a fashion statement, without compromising on practicality. The warp and weft help to keep you warm, without sacrificing the charm of the workwear style, especially if combined with other clothes of that type.

Not all beanies are the same and you have to take this into account when choosing and wearing them. A beanie is impeccable only if it meets three basic requirements: it must be warm, comfortable and versatile enough to adapt to any type of outfit. First of all, it depends on personal style and that of the person who creates them, but any hat that manages to bring together these three elements is perfect for everyone, at least from my point of view.

Thanks to its versatility, the beanie remains a staple in the wardrobes of many well-dressed men, such as Bradley Cooper and David Beckham.

Justin has a “high-end streetwear monster” vibe to his pieces. And the Southern California style of oversized, cozy pants and sweatshirts can only be enhanced with a beanie. This artist rocks them with ease, despite living in Los Angeles, where temperatures are almost never suitable for winter wear. It’s a lesson to learn.

The interpreter of Neo in Matrix could be the unwitting standard-bearer of beanies and their style. The combination of this hat with a high-tailored jacket and a scarf is textbook. The beanie chosen by Keanu Reeves is not exactly a crown of hipsters, also for how the actor decides to wear it, but it is certainly very masculine and has set a trend.

What do David Beckham, Kendrick Lamar, and Tyler, the Creator have in common? Their choice of an orange beanie, sooner or later. The style of the soccer ace, who chose not to fold it and wear it high on his head, is very “selective wine shop owner,” but it also shows how the beanie is a classic for all seasons.

Without a hat to match, Bradley Cooper's signature turbo dad look wouldn't work so well. In the summer, he lets his trucker charm shine, but in the winter, he's not afraid to rock the fashion game with Louis Vuitton caps designed by none other than Pharrell Williams. Just throw on a pair of sunglasses and you have a men's outfit that's as effective as it is modest.

Brad Pitt is a hunk and will remain so forever, which, by the way, he has always been good at. Already in 2023, he was wearing a green beanie with a red duster. He took his risks, but he made a great impression.
